A pretty lake with a gazebo, surrounded by hills. This is also a spot for hang-gliders, if the weather is right. There are many hiking trails, and good views from the hills to the bay on a clear day. In case of inclement weather the gazebo provides ample protection.

Directions: take 680 to Calaveras Blvd. and drive east towards the foothills. Turn left onto Downing and the entrance to the park is well marked. We will meet at the parking lot near the Sandy Wool Lake Gazebo, about 2 miles from the main entrance to the park. Expect to pay $6 per vehicle. (Santa Clara County libraries do lend free parking passes to their patrons who plan ahead!)
Attendance: Attendance is free and is open to all SCVWS members and non-members.
