We have special permission to paint the ofrendas (temporary altar or offerings) that local artists will have on public view in the lobby in advance of Avenida de Altares celebration of Dia de los Muertos. It's a moment when community comes together to honor memory and celebrate culture. The Plaza also has sculpture and gardens.
An ofrenda typically stays up from the days leading up to Día de los Muertos (October 31st) until November 2nd, which is when the traditional Day of the Dead celebration takes place. Some families extend this period, with celebrations sometimes starting as early as October 28th to welcome lost pets or other souls.

From Hwy 280 exit King Road head north turn right at Alum Rock Avenue
