A touring exhibit of eight 20-foot-tall multicolored statues of magical animals has been installed in and around Plaza de Cesar Chavez as part of the celebration of the 35th annual San Jose Jazz Summer Fest. Alebrijes are bright towering art sculptures, and they have brought a welcome splash of color to downtown San Jose and will continue to brighten downtown through Sept. 28, with several free, public events over the next few weeks around the Oaxacan art pieces. We will meet up afterwards around the steps of San Jose Museum of Art (across the street) at 12:30 to share our artwork.
