Harris-Lass House
We have obtained permission to paint at the Harris-Lass Museum, which will be opened up especially for us from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. This is the last farm site in the City of Santa Clara, named for the two families who owned and lived on the property for 125 years. There is the large Italianate-style home, a barn, summer kitchen and a tank house, plus the gardens. We also have permission to sketch inside the house. Bring your own seat (stool); this will be drawing only (no paints). The barn will also be open for us to paint/draw the farm machinery, and in the event of rain we can paint and each lunch there.
Directions: From Highway 880 (also known as Highway 17), take exit 1B towards Bascom Ave. North, Santa Clara. Proceed west on Newhall Street, then turn right on North Winchester Blvd, then left to Market Street. The house is on your right at 1889 Market Street.
